Acupuncture  has been approved by  WHO since 1970 as an effective treatment for many diseases.  It is a branch of traditional Chinese medicine that is more than 3000 years old.  Acupuncture is now taught at many colleges in the United States, Canada, China, and around the world and is widely used in the treatment of diseases.

Mechanism  of acupuncture:

The main mechanism of Acupuncture remains unknown.
From the point of view of Chinese medicine, life and balance are established by the gentle flow of qi (qi or vital energy), which flows through certain channels in the body and nourishes the internal organs of the body.  If the  flow of blood and qi in the body is disrupted , it will result in pain and illness.
In acupuncture, the flow of qi in the body is regulated by inserting very thin needles, in certain Acupoints.  Other methods of Chinese medicine

 EMBEDING (implantation of threads in acupoints )

In this method, medical threads are implanted in the acupuncture points with special needles, which are absorbed spontaneously during a few weeks. During this period, by stimulating the acupuncture points, they create  continuous therapeutic effects.

 In this method, the stimulation of acupuncture points is increased by sending electrical impulses through acupuncture needles.

The use of acupuncture for athletes is increasingly expanding.  In China, the treatment has been used by martial artists and soldiers to improve their abilities throughout the country's long history.
In sports medicine, acupuncture is primarily used to control pain and relieve muscle pain caused by exercise (tennis elbow), knee pain, back pain, neck pain and rotator cuff tendonitis.  But recently, special attention has been paid to using it in recovery of sports competitions and increasing athletic performance.  Studies have shown that acupuncture has positive effects on strength, aerobic capacity, flexibility, increased balance and athletic performance.
